Before spending MLB 26 stubs on another shortstop, check what your current Bobby Witt Jr. card can already do. The shared mission asks for 500 eligible Parallel XP and gives 10 points to each of Autumn Ascensions, Black Gold, and Heavy Lumber. That's progress across three paths from one player slot. It isn't a movable pool of 30 points, though. Each program needs 40 points, so you'll still need other objectives. Start with the Witt you own and save the upgrade decision for later.

Make Those Plate Appearances Count

Bat Witt first or second if getting his mission done is your priority. Then work through your inventory before filling the other positions. You've probably got hitters who can cover another objective without weakening the whole squad. An eligible starting pitcher can help, too. Check the permitted modes before loading into a game, and pick a difficulty where you can produce consistently. A tougher setting isn't worth much if you're striking out all evening. After each game, check the actual mission counters. General XP and player PXP aren't interchangeable, and completed players can make way for unfinished tasks.

Keep the Pack Chase Separate

The 99 OVR 2026 Topps Update Series Baseball Witt belongs to The Show Packs, not the guaranteed player rewards from those three programs. The October 14, 2026 content gives you reward paths to work through, with earned packs offering additional chances rather than a promised Witt card. Don't build your entire session around pulling him. Check each pack's contents, and remember that general Diamond odds don't tell you the odds of landing one particular player. If you're considering the Community Marketplace instead, confirm the edition and rating. Submitting an order doesn't mean you've received the card.

Choose Rewards Your Inventory Can Reach

Look at each path separately. Autumn Ascensions leads through Trey Yesavage, JJ Wetherholt, Konnor Griffin, and Julio Rodriguez. Black Gold offers Kevin McGonigle, Chase Burns, Samuel Basallo, and Paul Skenes. Heavy Lumber features Bryce Eldridge, Sal Stewart, Honus Wagner, and Tony Gwynn. Those rewards sit at 10, 20, 30, and 40 points respectively. With Witt covering the first 10 points, find three other suitable 10-point objectives per path. Read their requirements carefully; the broader team and position missions don't necessarily use his 500 PXP target.

Pay for a Role You Actually Need

A 99 on the card doesn't automatically replace a productive 98 OVR All-Star edition. Compare contact against both sides, power, clutch, reaction, throwing, and speed. More importantly, ask where your current shortstop lets you down. If you're browsing cheap MLB 26 stubs, set a spending limit before making roster decisions. Keep enough flexibility to improve other positions rather than putting everything into one upgrade.
